# Where is the name DuckDuckGo from?

The name DuckDuckGo is derived from [Duck, Duck, Goose](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Duck%2C+Duck%2C+Goose&origin=funnel_help), but it's not a metaphor.

If you're wondering how you would turn that into a verb... Duck it!
